Vinegar and the crucifixion
Remember at the time of crucifixion of our Lord, Jesus Christ? He was on the cross and asked for some water. (Matthew 27:48, Mark 15:36, John 19:27) There was a bucket of vinegar near by. Instead of water, someone dipped a sponge in vinegar and put it on the tip of a spear and touched the Lord's mouth with it.
Guess what could be the purpose of that vinegar at that moment…

Joseph in the Holy Bible
Joseph, I think has had a very important role in the world's economy. He was the first one who recognized the value of money and converted crop into cash. It was he who taught his people, the Israelis to get in cash business and have good positions in the Egyptian government at the era of the Pharaohs. Genesis chapters 41 to 50 is about the adventures of how he was brought to Egypt as a slave and later on became the minister of agriculture, where he master minded the production of wheat and converting it into wealth. When the years of famine arrived, Egypt was ready; Joseph had been making preparations for the last seven years. He raised the price of crop. He sold the wheat for up to five times more than what it was worth. And then when the citizens had no cash left, Joseph made them to have a contract with the Egyptian's government to give one fifth of their harvest to Egypt for the rest of their lives. "And it shall come to pass in the harvest that you shall give one-fifth to Pharaoh. Four-fifth shall be your own, as seed for the field and for your food, for those of your households and as food for your little ones." (Genesis 47: 24-31).
" He brought his parents, eleven brothers and all his relatives to Egypt and made sure they were all provided. The Hebrews didn't have to pay high taxes like the rest of the Egyptians, and this over time, irritated the citizens, and after 300 years when the fame of Joseph and his contributions to the land wore off, the new king of Egypt who didn't know Joseph, became furious against Hebrews that how large in numbers they had grown, and they were a threat to the Egyptians. He ordered to kill the new born boys of Israelis so they wouldn't outnumber the Egyptians… It was at this time when Moses was born and when his mother after three months couldn't hide him anymore, she put him in a basket and laid the basket in the Niles…
The significance of Joseph's role in creating a system to build up the economy of Egypt is unparalleled to any role of king or Pharaoh. Probably Egypt wouldn't have been so rich for so many centuries if Joseph hadn't been there to interpret the king's dream.
